The job
This home in Silver City is framed with roof trusses, and its heating and cooling ducts run through the truss space. Before the drywall went up we covered the floors with plastic, then sprayed foam into the exterior wall cavities and across the underside of the roof deck between the trusses.
Putting the foam on the roof deck instead of on the ceiling turns the truss space into a sealed attic, so the ducts sit in air close to the temperature of the house. In Grant County, where summer afternoons get hot and winter nights get cold, that keeps the ducts out of the worst of both.
