The job

What we did and why

This home in Artesia has arched windows, a bay window and vaulted rooms. We sprayed foam into the exterior wall cavities and across the underside of the roof deck, from the eaves up to the ridge, before the drywall went up.

Foaming the roof deck instead of the attic floor brings the attic inside the insulated part of the house. The heating and cooling ducts run through that attic (you can see them in the photos), so they sit in a space close to the temperature of the house instead of a hot summer attic, which helps the system deliver air at the temperature it was set for.

What we installed

  • Spray foam in the exterior wall cavities
  • Spray foam on the underside of the roof deck, eaves to ridge
  • Sealed around window framing, wiring and recessed light boxes
