The job
This home in Ruidoso has a tall great room with a loft, a row of clerestory windows up high, sliding doors out to a deck, and a lower level with a concrete floor. We sprayed foam into the exterior wall cavities and along the underside of the roof deck between the rafters, before the drywall went up.
Vaulted ceilings like these leave no attic to pile insulation into, so the foam goes right against the roof deck. It fills the rafter bays and seals around the wiring, the recessed light boxes and the window framing, the places where air leaks make a mountain home drafty when the wind picks up.
