The job
This home in Alto, just north of Ruidoso, is built around big black-framed windows, sliding glass doors and rows of clerestory windows looking out over the valley. We sprayed foam into the exterior wall cavities and across the underside of the roof deck between the rafters, around the wiring and recessed light boxes, before the drywall went in.
With this much glass, the walls and roof have to do the rest of the work. Foam fills the framing bays and seals the gaps around rough openings and penetrations, which is where a house like this tends to lose heat on cold mountain nights.
