The job

What we did and why

This new home in Roswell was ready for insulation with the framing, wiring and ductwork in. We sprayed foam into the exterior walls of the house and the garage, then went up into the truss space and sprayed the underside of the roof deck, so the attic and the ducts in it end up inside the insulated part of the house.

Out on the plains around Roswell, the summer sun makes an ordinary vented attic one of the hottest spaces in the house, and the ducts run right through it. Foaming the roof deck keeps the attic close to the temperature of the rooms below, so the cooling the system makes isn’t lost on its way to them.

What we installed

  • Spray foam in the exterior walls of the house and garage
  • Spray foam on the underside of the roof deck, between the trusses
  • Sealed around windows, doors and wiring
