The job

What we did and why

This steel building in Roswell has three tall roll-up doors along one side and walk-in doors at the ends, with the electrical panel already mounted. Working from a lift for the roof, we foamed the wall panels and the roof panels between the purlins, cutting in tight at each door frame.

With doors this size, the wall around each frame has to be sealed right up to it, because that is where cold air finds its way in. Foam on the roof and walls keeps more heat in through the winter and more of the sun’s heat out in summer, and it takes the edge off the noise when the spring wind is blowing across the plains.

What we installed

  • Spray foam on the wall panels around three roll-up doors and the walk-in doors
  • Spray foam across the underside of the roof, between the purlins
  • Cut in tight at every door frame and around the electrical panel
