The job

What we did and why

This is a big steel building in Nogal, with a long row of windows down each side and wood framing for interior rooms going up at one end. We laid sheeting over the floor and along the base of the walls, then sprayed foam over the wall panels and across the underside of the roof, around the windows, the electrical boxes and the new framing.

Nogal is high mountain country north of Alto, with cold winters and plenty of wind. On a building this size, insulating the steel and sealing the panel seams is what makes it practical to heat, whether the owner uses the whole space or just the rooms at one end.

What we installed

  • Spray foam on the wall panels, down to the floor sheeting
  • Spray foam across the underside of the roof
  • Sprayed around the windows, electrical boxes and new interior framing

Protected before spraying

  • Floor covered with sheeting
  • Plastic run along the base of the walls
