What we see in Truth or Consequences
T or C sits on the Rio Grande at about 4,300 feet, in open desert. Summer sun is hard, spring wind carries dust, and winter nights still freeze. You’ll find older block and stucco homes, flat-roofed buildings downtown, manufactured homes and RVs on lots, and metal carports and shops. Bare steel and older roofs with little insulation let summer heat pour in, and spray foam insulation slows it down. Heavy July and August storms can wash out the fill under patios and RV pads, leaving them low and cracked.
